‘DESCRIPTION’

EXIT Galleries is hiring for a exciting multi-faceted entrepreneurial style role working directly in collaborative partnership with the Project Lead for this summer/fall season. EXIT is seeking a talented and innovative creator to assist in EXITs ongoing project. This contract role will have tremendous opportunity for growth. The amount of work put in will be instrumental to the overall success of the project and the longevity of the role moving forward. 

The ideal candidate will be a natural connector, free thinker, passionate multi-disciplinarian, and avid community builder— looking to continue to hone their skills supporting creative ecological development in Boston. 

They (the ideal candidate) will have a background in design, communications, & production with a valid track record of building and executing cohesive coherent successful creative work (campaigns, events, and/or product offerings).

They will have experience in ideating, creating & producing integrated digital and physical experiences that flow, resonate, and are relevant to EXITs larger mission around facilitating meaningful contexts for human connection through artistic expression.

They will be able to effectively balance strategic design with detail oriented organization, coordination, & analysis of work. Meaning not only will they be able to create excellent groundbreaking work, but will also be able to reflect on successes/shortcomings in order to continually progress forward. 

They will have experience operating a creative studio, gallery or retail environment which are commercial in nature and public facing. With experience not just building design strategies for creative campaigns, but communicating the value interpersonally, living it, & inspiring those they interact with.

The ideal candidate will have had some familiarity with the EXIT philosophy already and have participated and/or organized prior events. 

The ideal candidate will have their own independent work study and find ways of weaving independent work into the ongoing project space. They will have the freedom to effectively manage their time to work on independent projects while operating in-house studio hours.


Roles & Responsibilities

COMMUNICATIONS (70%)

A major part of this role is design, creative project management & communications. Practically EXIT is a venue space, gallery, & brand. This role will help create and communicate all promotional materials surrounding the events, products & services we’re offering in order to build awareness, drive engagement, and build community. Quantitatively this means increased traffic to site & socials, visits to our brick & mortar location, venue bookings, & product sales.

Digital Communications -

  • Create, manage, and produce effective multi-channel social media marketing campaigns and strategies

  • design, source, manage content creation

  • coordinate & produce photo & video content for social / web

  • monitor, track, and report

  • manage work with internal team to effectively delegate creation of defined objectives

Event Communications - 

  • Manage event marketing timelines

  • PR outreach to promote events

  • Designing flyer promotions

  • printing assets & managing guerrilla marketing campaigns

Product Communications -

  • E-commerce platform communication design

  • Strategize, plan, develop, & execute photo & video campaigns that illustrate products in context

  • integrate holistic and cohesive communications between products, events, and digital offerings; aligned in order to continue to build participation and support of EXITs artistic initiatives. 

  • maintain /manage photo/video content libraries

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & GALLERY OPERATIONS (25%)

Secondary responsibilities in this role will be hands on operational. This means helping to facilitate and coordinate ongoing events in the space. As well as general daily retail and gallery visitor operations in the space. 

  • Coordinate and/or produce media content production for events

  • help facilitate, organize, coordinate events. Assisting vendors, programmers with use of space

  • Gallery Interior Design

  • Maintaining, organizing merchandise

  • Managing Point Of Sale

FUNDRAISING (5%)

EXIT Galleries is a creative cultural organization constantly on the lookout for resources to support our artistic initiatives. A small part of this role would be investigating grant opportunities and collaborative partner/sponsor opportunities.

Qualifications
**All applicants must submit a portfolio of work to be considered for this role

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working for creative events company and/or lifestyle brand

  • experience in managing a team, outside contractors, & interns

  • In-depth knowledge of social media management platforms and analytics tools

  • Strong attention to detail 

  • Desire to collaborate and continually strive for outstanding creative work 

  • PMA, fresh thinking, overt readiness for challenges

  • entrepreneurial & risk-taking spirit

  • Familiarity with PR, advertising, and SMM

  • Familiarity with current and emerging social media trends and best practices 

  • Problem-solving approach

  • Strong relationship management skills to effectively engage with followers and influencers 

  • incredibly strong knowledge of design principles and ability to create visually striking content 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines 

  • Appreciation for the Art

  • Proficiency in design, video and photo editing software ( Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)

  • This is a hybrid position that requires working onsite at EXIT


INTERNSHIPS
PART-TIME MAY - OCTOBER 2024

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

EXIT is offering a part-time internship to someone looking to gain hands on experience in event & lifestyle video/photo production. The ideal candidate will have previous experience shooting & editing photo & video from live events and experiences. The ideal candidate will also have some experience shooting editorial style fashion/lifestyle photography and/or video.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • Capturing live events

  • -editing

  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects,

  • fashion/lifestyle editorial photography

  • work directly with creative manager and socials team to produce relevant creative content


BOOKING INTERNSHIP

EXIT is offering an opportunity for someone interested in supporting EXITs venue booking and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be passionate about organizing and facilitating space for creative expression.  The ideal candidate will have prior experience booking and coordinating events and/or shows. They will also have vast knowledge of the local music/arts scene. 

Roles & Responsibilities - 

  • Artist outreach

  • University / student group outreach

  • Show coordination

  • Create, manage artist spreadsheets

  • Manage & coordinate venue private bookings

  • Facilitate venue tours

  • Facilitate load in hour

  • coordinate & communicate with team to manage event calendar to allow for proper promotional timelines.

  • work directly with Project Lead on event scheduling


COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

EXIT is offering an internship opportunity for someone looking to gain experience supporting the promotional efforts of a creative cultural space. The ideal candidate will have complete social media fluency with the various platforms and a proven track record of editing and creating effective content strategies. This role will work directly and collaboratively with the Production Intern and Writing Intern to generate clear, cohesive, concise, digital media communications distributed via EXITs web blog and social media channels. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • strategize, design content calendar based on schedule of events

  • shoot ‘behind the scenes’ // capture content from EXIT events and happenings

  • shoot and edit effective storytelling content related to retail & gallery operations

  • create effective social media campaigns to promote space and events


WRITING & JOURNALISM INTERNSHIP

EXIT is offering an opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the field of journalism, writing, & publishing. The ideal candidate will have some experience writing for music and/or art blogs/publications reviewing artists, events, shows, conducting interviews, & researching stories. They will be passionate about communicating impactful stories about cultural happenings and events. They will be looking to gain experience working directly with a small arts organization. 

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • write, edit blog posts surrounding EXITs upcoming and current events

  • conduct interviews with artists, collaborators, and partners affiliated with EXIT events and happenings

  • create / render impactful stories that capture the essence and spirit of EXITs events and happenings

  • collaborate with the production intern and media intern to strategize, write, and share meaningful content stories through EXITs social media channels

Internship Qualifications:

  • Currently or recently enrolled in an undergraduate program

  • Able to commit to 8-12 hours per week, including one on-site per week in Boston

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • passionate self-starter attitude

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, a high level of professionalism, creativity, humor, and a love for the art
